You can just be a good person.

Seeing this made me chuckle and cringe. It came out in the 80s or 90s and I actually used to own a copy of it because it was recommended as an excellent resource. I think I gave it way about 7 years ago, but seeing this brought back memories. Whenever I see things like this and remember where I’ve come from, it always makes me wonder how I stayed in a religion for a long as I did.
Geisler is also the author of, I Don’t Have Enough Faith To Be An Atheist. That book is terrible and filled with reminders of why I dislike Apologists. There is so much wrong to address in this meme, but I don’t have the time right now. Maybe I’ll tackle it later.
“Bill’s Declaration of Faith”
This is one of a series of “Bill & Ray Discuss Religion” videos I created a few years ago using xtranormal. I wanted to see what I could do with it, and this is the result. Bill’s words are quoted verbatim from a Christian student in a philosophy of religion class. Ray’s critique contains my response to that Christian student.
Here are the other two videos in the series. Each video, like the one above, is based on conversations I have had with Christians I know:
Bill and Ray Discuss the Problem of Evil
Bill and Ray Discuss Hell
Reading what my Christian friends post on Facebook makes me lose hope in humanity.
Defending Carl Sagan!
This morning as I was sorting the images on my computer I stumbled upon this screen shot of an exchange I had with one of my Christian friends on Facebook during Carl Sagan Day last year. Thought I’d share it here.

Good thing for the person who made this sign that people with poor language skills didn’t make the list.
